Overview
Safe use of Pesticide PA6aw This course is suitable for those who wish to gain the legislative qualification to use pesticides in or near water, It is based around the National Proficiency Test Council PA6aw (Hand Held Applicators on or near water) Test and is designed to help people to successfully prepare for their tests. The course lasts for one day, plus assessment.


What is involved?
• Update to relevant legislation
• Determining nozzles
• Identification of correct nozzles
• Identification of spray quality and how  to obtain this
• Determination of pesticide quantity required
• Preparing and checking the sprayer for use
• Operating the sprayer in various circumstances, emphasis on application in or near water
• Identification of suitable pesticides
• Gaining permission to spray from SEPA/SNH
• Mixing pesticides and filling sprayer
• Spot spraying
• Out of season maintenance and storage
• General / Environmental safety
• Calibrating the sprayer
• Decontamination of sprayer and protective clothing
• Review


Entry Requirements
Candidates must have successfully passed their PA1 and PA6 assessments prior to completing testing for PA6aw.


Certification/Award on Completion
NPTC Level 2 Award in Safe Use of Pesticides - Module PA6aw Hand Held Applicator including application in or near water


What you will need to bring
Appropriate PPE, two passport photographs, note book and pen
